OK! I am fed up.

I built a desktop with an ASUS Striker II MB and Crucial Balistix memory and have had nothing but problems for 3 years. I now have had 3 different MBs from ASUS and 2 sets of 4X1GB sticks of memory from Crucial. Here is my newest problem. I swapped my MB this week (bad memory slot) and got it to boot after 4 tries(kept hanging on "DET DRAM), ... set the BIOS with the correct settings and voltages and it was VERY stable. Then, .... after the storms today and the loss of power it won't boot. Always sticks on "DET DRAM". The last time I had this problem the only way to fix it was to take all but one stick out and boot it that way. I will try that again tomorrow and report back.

I am very, very, very close to ditching both the MB and the memory and putting the rest of the guts on another board with other memory.

I need someone to tell me why I shouldn't do that.
